We have been sending our children to St. Mary of the Mills School for over 9 years now and have always appreciated the academically strong nature of the school as well as the caring and nurturing teachers. The teachers and faculty work to build community across grade levels. An example of this is the Kinder buddies program, where an older student is paired with a Kindergarten student for special projects. Two of my favorite aspects of St. Mary of the Mills School are their outstanding drama program and an excellent band program. The drama and band teachers go out of their way to help the children use all of their gifts and reach their fullest potential. The Principal and Vice Principal at St. Mary of the Mills work very well together, building community and fostering an energetic and positive atmosphere. Most important to us, our children receive a strong formation in faith. We appreciate that the students go to mass weekly and that they have caring teachers sharing the faith with them.

Our child is going into the 2nd grade and started Kindergarten at St. Mary's. She has grown academically and personally each year and exceeded beyond any expectations we set for her. The teachers at St. Mary's truly care about the students and we have found a truly wonderful school for our daughter's future.

My oldest child is going into 7th grade and our second child is going into 2nd grade. Both children have excelled educationally, grown in faith, and benefited from numerous extra-curricular activities (like Drama performances) over the years. St. Mary's really cares about developing the whole child (educationally, spiritually, strength of character, emotionally, etc). We care deeply about St. Mary's and are very involved in the busy school calendar of events. The teachers and staff know our whole family by name and our community bonds are strong. I know that I can email the teachers/Principal and get a response in a timely manner. St. Mary's has many Archdiocese of Washington recognized best teachers, a.k.a. Golden Apple Teachers! These teachers are dedicated to our students and look at this as a vocation not just a job. We are very grateful for St. Mary's and how we've been able to partner together to educate our children.
