St. Louis De Montfort Academy

St. Louis de Montfort Academy is an independent boarding school for boys, encompassing grades 7 through 12.
Founded in 1995, it is staffed by full-time volunteers of the American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property (TFP)(www.tfp.org).
Prof. Plinio Correa de Oliveira, the great Catholic thinker, man of action, and inspirer of the various TFPs around the world, had a big influence on the founding of the Academy.
His book Revolution and Counter-Revolution contains many of the principles and historic perspectives taught at the Academy.
In addition, the Academy seeks to put these ideals into action by the formation of young men who are profoundly attached to their Catholic Faith and culture and disposed to defend them by word and example.
St. Louis de Montfort Academy seeks to provide a solid academic foundation, where Catholic culture and civilization are emphasized.

Are you a concerned mother whose son is begging to be sent to the world's only fully and explicitly counter-revolutionary school? Fear not! At St. Louis de Montfort Academy:- Your son will have incredible access to the sacraments! Daily Latin Mass and confession run several times weekly, as well as singing the Little Office of Our Lady and praying the rosary as a group.- Your son will be immersed in a society of devout Catholics! Belonging to a group of competent men is very important to male psychology, and the society your son will find at St. Louis de Montfort will inspire and encourage him in his faith.- Your son will learn to follow the example of Our Lord in following the 4th Commandment! In the modern world, everything tells young people to ignore and reject their families. In contrast, Dr. Plinio, the founder of the TFP, had a great love for his mother, and the importance of the family was fundamental to his thought.- Academics are rigorous! If you're worried about your son's college prospects, don't be!- Everything else is rigorous too! Students wake to the bell, wash their own clothes, clean the inside of every building on campus, serve tables and wash dishes, cook meals on Sundays, and go to bed at the appointed hour. Everything is done to instill students with the discipline and skills they will need to succeed on their own.- All students are encouraged to learn an instrument for the marching band. Some learn three or more!- Students run and play almost daily! Your son will not grow into a video-gaming couch potato at this school! I only attended St. Louis do Montfort for my last two years of high school, but I don't know where I would be today without this school and its wonderful staff! This is the place where boys become men!

The St. Louis du Montfort Academy is an extraordinary school. My son will be entering his 3rd year there. The academy has instilled in him discipline, respect, responsibility, leadership, camaraderie, and chivalry, but most especially, love for Our Lord, Our Lady, and the Roman Catholic Church. His knowledge of the church and The history that he has learned at the academy is astounding, all the while studying his core subjects with the Mother Seaton program. My son went to school playing the piano and has now learned to play an additional 7 instruments! The mentorship, leadership, and instruction by the staff are incredible. They truly love what they do and it shows in all the students. In a world where educators are forcing anti-Christian beliefs on their students in place of general education, it is a relief that the St.Louis Academy teaches traditional Catholic values alongside and in conjunction with, core subjects. May God Bless the St.Louis du Montfort Academy, its staff, and its mission. Creating true gentlemen capable of fighting the evils of today.

Rigorous academics, beautiful ambiance... opportunities to play musical instruments...learning to live a life ordered and disciplined. Imbued with a love of Faith and a Counter-Revolutionary spirit...This is an excellent school- both in terms of academics and character formation. Our son has just finished his 9th-grade year, and it has been a life-changing, positive experience! We are elated to see our son developing into an upright, Catholic, young man. Afraid to defend his faith. The dedication apostolic kindness and patience shown to the boys are exemplary! Cannot recommend it enough!

After experiencing several TFP Calls to Chivalry Camps, my son expressed the desire to enter St. Louis de Montfort Academy. Having known the teachers and various other members of the TFP, I was delighted with his decision. He has spent two years there and is about to enter his senior year. The Academy teachers have been excellent role models. They foster intellectual, spiritual, and social development. The Academy sits on a beautiful partially wooded campus. The main building which houses the dormitories is stately. The environment and teachers have elevated my son's soul, instilled a deep love of the Catholic Faith, and the ability and willingness to defend the Faith against the onslaught of the Revolution. I recommend St. Louis de Montfort Academy without reservation.

There are so many good things that can be said of St. Louis de Monfort Academy. It is truly a school for boys like no other. A school, where if you send your son or sons, not only he, but your whole family will benefit. Your home will be elevated towards heavenly things instead of the chaos of the world. The academy is modeled after St. John Bosco`s school for boys and his experience that a young man needs 3 things in the correct proportion to thrive- work, prayer/education, and play. The boys live together in a monastic-like atmosphere in that they work together, pray and study together, and play together. They wash their own laundry, take turns cooking and serving in the kitchen as well as keep the property clean and orderly, both inside and out. The day begins with a silent breakfast where books are read aloud on subjects such as martyrs, manners and medieval history, the height of Christendom, in order to foster good strong Catholic men whether their calling is to the priesthood, marriage, or join the ranks of the TFP and become slaves to Our Lady. The students learn to stand up for Catholic teaching - to respect life and uphold natural law. Participation in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is required 4 times a week but offered daily for those who desire to attend. In addition, the Little Office and the rosary are recited. Field trips to shrines and museums as well as participation in community events such as parades and singing at hospitals and nursing homes at Christmas as well as attendance at the annual Pro-Life March in Washington add to the education and formation. The staff strives to form well-rounded strong ethical young men. I would highly recommend the academy.

I always look back fondly on the three years that I spent as a student at the St. Louis de Montfort Academy. They were the best years of my student life. The Academy is truly the ideal school for a Catholic young man in this present day and age. Aside from normal education, you are taught proper manners and etiquette, singing and music, cooking, team building, fencing, and many other small skills. You are taught how to keep your room and uniform neat and clean, practice proper hygiene, respect your peers, converse and speak in public, and use common sense. There is ample access to Holy Mass and the Sacraments and a rigorous formation of internal prayer life. The staff are true heroes and selflessly sacrifice many patient hours to assist the students with all their problems and troubles. A young man can consider himself truly lucky to have had the privilege of being a student at the St. Louis de Montfort Academy.

St Louis de Montfort Academy changed my life! This school is truly blessed by Our Lady with great staff and many many graces. I will never forget how when I first arrived after a long transatlantic flight, I was brought to my room. The room was in perfect order, the bed was made, and on the pillow was a copy of True Devotion to Mary by St Louis de Montfort. The St Louis de Montfort Academy's power comes from Our Lady.

The three years I spent at the St. Louis De Montfort Academy were the most formative and marking years of my life. The graces received at the Academy helped me become more devoted to the Catholic Church. This is the only counterrevolutionary school in the world and therefore the best. The Academy is most definitely a place where heroes are forged.

St. Louis de Montfort Academy is a beacon in the current sea of darkness that engulfs education in our country. The program is a well-balanced no-nonsense approach to academics, and cultural and personal formation tailored for boys in order to form them into men, the men our society needs for a true return to order. Our son is a better person thanks to the Academy, having matured in responsibility and spiritual intellectual fervor. The Academy staff go the extra mile to provide an environment conducive to learning while having fun and developing camaraderie, our son loves it. The instruction approach is traditional with an emphasis on logic and critical thinking, there are no cutting corners or watering down concepts, a truly classical education under the old Roman adagio of "mens sana in corpore sano". We highly recommend the Academy to any parent searching for a place that will make a positive difference in the life of a son.

This school is extremely excellent. It is truly Catholic and Marian in every sense of the word. I really did not understand my faith very well at all until I went to the Academy. It gives a truly rigorous formation physically. mentally, and spiritually. One has to make up his bed in a military-style, shine his shoes, participate in military formations, pray the rosary and little office of Our Lady, serve in a fine dining setting, and much more. There can be a great difference seen between when an Academy student first arrives and comes back home for his first break. Everything is done in order to fight for Our Lady against the present crisis in our world.

All five of my sons attended St. Louis De Montfort Academy. I cannot adequately express the gratitude of my wife and I for the education, character and religious formation my sons received there. So many parents try to raise their children the right way and then one day their children leave the faith. St. Louis De Montfort Academy did such an excellent job of instilling Catholic values as well as religious zeal that all of our sons are faithful and zealous practitioners of their faith. One of my sons liked his experiences there so much that he ended up returning as an instructor. St. Louis De Montfort Academy is comprised of staff who are incredibly dedicated to the formation of youth.I once spoke to a priest who oversaw the religious program that the Academy uses (Seton). He told me in person that he used the papers submitted by the Academy Students to be the high water mark for essays because they were so excellent.Besides academics, even more importantly is the character formation. Students learn to live a chivalrous life, with faith, courtesy, respect, and the willingness to defend their faith with good apologetics training and action. If you want your son to receive an excellent faith experience, religious, educational and cultural formation then St. Louis De Montfort is worth considering.
