I was raised in the Catholic community and I attended another catholic school for my 8 years of elementary education. When I had my daughter, Emma, I just knew she would attend the same school.......until........we were introduced to St. Leonard. Once we visited and met and talked with others, we knew almost instantly that St. Leonard was the place for us. It is literally a HUGE family at St. Leonard. From the moment Emma and I stepped foot into St. Leonard, we were welcomed with open arms. I have never felt judged, alone or that we didn't fit. As a single mother (divorced), only parent (father not involved) and raising a bi-racial daughter, the decision on where to join the parish and attend school was a big deal. The school is diverse, which I felt was also important. I also wanted to be involved. There are so many opportunities to get involved and be part of. The school may be small, but we found that to be one of the MAJOR attractions. We are involved, everyone knows who we are, Emma has met so many wonderful students and friends who have all treated her equally. The classes are smaller which means more attention for your student. I have joined committees I never even thought of before. It has given me the chance to open up and feel part of. We have found a true home here at St. Leonard and I cannot say enough wonderful things about it!!!

We moved to Louisville two years ago and were drawn to St. Leonard after touring multiple schools. We have been extremely happy with our choice. The small school and class sizes make for a very personalized experience for our daughter and our family. She benefits from a robust curriculum with lots of hands on experiences and resource supports. The principal, counselor and teachers are supportive, approachable and up-to-date on contemporary pedagogical theories. It's obvious that they love what they do and are committed to the children and families (as demonstrated by awards for teacher of the year and volunteer of the year for the entire archdiocese in 2016.) St. Leonard provides ample opportunities for leadership, sports, public service, extracurricular activities and parent involvement. We love the ethnically, socially, and economically diverse environment and have found the parents, students and parishioners to be warm, involved and welcoming. This has been a great fit for our daughter and our family!

We have 4 children at St. Leonard and we love it! The school is small and therefore has the ability to meet each child where they are. I have children that are advanced and others that require extra help- and St. Leonard meets all of those needs. We feel like we have become part of the community and we love the fact that our middle school aged children are involved with the younger children. We have moved around a lot because of our jobs, but St. Leonard has been the best thing that has happened to our family in a long time!

I love the small community and class sizes at St.Leonard Parish School. My daughters have been there for 8 & 9 years now and it has been such a positive experience. They have received an excellent education and have been challenged to be the best students that they can be. The teaching staff is wonderful and dedicated to meeting each individual student's needs. It is a wonderful place that I consider a "hidden gem" in Louisville!

We are very pleased with the teachers and staff at St. Leonard's. My daughter receives personal attention due to the size of the classroom. She feels comfortable and enjoys going to school. We know most of the parents and teachers because we all focus on our students experience and education. I would recommend St. Leonard's to anyone!

St. Leonard is an excellent school. Teacher to child ratio is low. The principal, teachers, and other staff clearly have positive, supportive relationships. Teachers are caring and skilled. Children establish long-term, caring relationships with more than just their current teacher. Communication with and participation by parents is encouraged and supported. Parents know other parents well. Academic expectations are high AND arts, sports opportunities are abundant. Use of technology is on par with larger, Catholic/private schools. My children are happy to wake up and go to school.
