There is not enough space to share all the good things about this special school! It is a small, family-oriented school where teachers treat the students like they are their own children. They are invested in the success of the kids and my child is thriving because of that. We previously attended a well-known private school that lacked all of the warmth that Shallowford possesses. My child wakes up EVERY morning excited to attend school and they are sad when school is not in session. This school is a hidden gem. They also place emphasis on physical activity for kids and in the younger years the children go out for recess twice per day. They also have weekly PE and lots of other enrichment classes (art, music, Spanish, Social-Emotional Learning, etc). I can't believe more families aren't clamoring to get into this school. I think as the word spreads in the community, more people will apply here. We are so happy to have found this school and plan to stay here for many years to come!

Our family has been so happy at SPS. From the moment I first walked in, I knew it was a special place. My kids have met their favorite friends and I have met some amazing parents who have become my dear companions as well. For my kids, I love how warm and caring all their teachers are. You cannot walk down the hall without a chorus of "hellos" and "how are you's". Everyone knows my kids' names. I love how the classes have 30 minutes of recess every day, as well as amazing specials worked into the day such as Spanish, Storytelling Theater, Art, Music, Library, PE and Chapel. When school releases my kids don't want to go home; they want to go to the playground and continue playing with their SPS friends! As a parent, I am very pleased with the age-appropriate curriculum. There is adequate time for free and imaginative play, as well as learning in a fun and active way. I love being able to go in and read to my kids' classes. I enjoy the numerous volunteer activities such as Chick-Fil-A lunch day, Scholastic Book Fair and Joy of Giving that allow me to be active at the school and meet other parents. Finally, I look forward to the school-wide events that bring us together as a community: Doughnuts with Dads, Thanksgiving Potluck, Grandparents' Lunch, Spring Sharing and Mother's Tea. Our family is looking forward to many more happy years at SPS!
