School Notes

  • SAGE Academy was founded on the idea that all students can find joy in learning. We offer a unique approach by providing each student with a personalized curriculum. We strive to meet or surpass state standards, encourage art exploration, teach the latest in computer programming, and offer a great amount of teacher support. Each high school student receives an educational plan based on their post-high school goals. Will they enter a Private College, Community College, Specialized Trade School, or the work force? Will they need management skills? Do they intend to own their own business? These are questions that help shape the HS curriculum. The SAGE Summer Program is the perfect blend of morning academics and afternoon activities. We can help your student get ahead for next year or review some difficult parts of the previous year. Well-rounded, alternative education for grades Kindergarten through 12th.

My daughter (8) is an independent learner and thinker who needs guidance without being crushed. She's been thriving since attending Sage Academy at age 6. She's happy and doing amazingly well academically. She loves to learn and make friends. I am always thankful I found this school for my daughter.

My son and daughter both went to SAGE Academy throughout high school. The teachers there truly care about the kids and go to amazing lengths to support each student's individual needs. Behind in science? They will customize a program to catch you up! Working on calculus in 9th grade, but working on 9th grade work in all the other classes? We'll customize a math program so that you can work at your skill level. As the class sizes are very small (usually less than 10 student's per grade), each student gets time and attention from the teacher. The children have the freedom to work on individual projects, teach the younger students once they have mastered a skill (executive functioning!), and work on their social skills under the guidance of their teachers, who observe their social interactions (which they can easily do with such small class sizes), and ensure all students treat each other with kindness and respect. Regarding the elementary school, Sid is one of the best teachers I have ever met! He works magic with those kids, and they adore him, following him around like puppies.Sid is also the school counselor for all grades, and I have seen him take multiple teens who were rude, dismissive and challenging, and transform them to a kind person who is eager to learn. The school is so small and intimate; it feels like a large family. Everyone knows everyone, and parents help other parents out all the time, with many parents involved at the school on a weekly basis. The band classes are very popular, as many students have musical talent. At SAGE, children are taught so much more than academics; they are taught to be inquisitive, artistic, curious, expressive, respectful, and kind.
