Rivendell Academy is a private independent study program for K-12 students in California.
Students are enrolled in Rivendell's private satellite program (PSP) in which parents or guardians select and purchase curriculum and provide instruction to the students at home.
Rivendell provides individualized support to plan each student's course of study, educational consulting, record keeping, official transcripts, online tutoring, and college counseling.
Rivendell students can earn a high school diploma, high school certificate of proficiency, or high school certificate of completion.
The enrollment fee does not include the cost of curriculum materials.

Rivendell Academy offers families the opportunity to completely
customize their students' educations. Families may choose a
traditional curriculum, student led education, project-based
education, or an eclectic mix of educational options. Students are
free to work at their own level and pace. Testing services are
available but are not required. High school students have access to
college counseling and college application help. Advanced students
have the option of enrolling part-time in a California community
college.

World Languages, including languages other than English such as
modern foreign languages, classical languages, or American Sign
Language.
Computer Literacy, including computer maintenance, online
safety, internet search skills, email management, word processing,
spreadsheets, presentation software, and programming.
Visual and Performing Arts, including dance, music, theater,
and visual arts such as drawing, painting, sculpture, graphic arts
or photography.
Practical Arts, including study skills, food preparation and
safety, driver education, home maintenance, career technical
education, industrial arts, business education, or
agriculture.
Health, including human development topics such as mental
health, human sexuality, family planning, and parenting
skills.
Physical Education, including physical activities such as
swimming, bicycling, or sports.
