Notes for Prospective Students
QCMS holds both a fall and spring open house and orientation
meeting. These brief presentations are designed to acquaint parents
of prospective students with the Montessori philosophy and its
implementation in the classroom through the Montessori method, and
the Mission of the school. Individuals who wish additional visits
should contact the Admission Office to schedule a private tour. The
private tour is an ideal opportunity for you and your family to
view the classrooms in progress. The families of prospective
students are guided through the curriculum and physical building of
the school, as well as given an opportunity to ask any questions
that may arise. Before sending in your application, a private tour
must be scheduled. Registration applications and fees will not be
accepted until a private tour and review of the application has
been completed through the Admission Office. Complete, sign, and
return the application including the Parent and/or Student
Information Forms with the $300.00 registration fee to: Director of
Admission, Quad City Montessori School, 2400 East 46th Street
Davenport, Iowa 52807 USA, Telephone: +1.563.355.1289, Fax:
+1.563.355.7798 The registration fee goes to securing your child's
place in the classroom. Applications may be handwritten, typed, or
computer generated. The Admission office E-mail address is:
admissions@qcms.org An interview is required of all new applicant
families which is part of the private tour. It is designed to help
us get to know your family as well as answer your questions about
QCMS and the admission process. A brief campus tour and classroom
observation will be scheduled. The appointment will take
approximately one hour. For applicants 6 years old and above,
deliver the Request for Information Form to the appropriate
official at the student's current school. Please ask to have any
standardized test scores and psychological and/or educational
evaluation results included with the records. Original records will
not be requested until the student is admitted and enrolled. All
applicants will be asked to participate in an in-class evaluation.
The appropriate age level teachers to determine the student’s level
of academic and social development as it applies to the Montessori
classroom evaluate applicants. These are not standardized tests,
but rather evaluations designed to reflect the level of expectation
for QCMS programs. Please check with the Admission Office to
schedule a visit and make drop-off and pick-up arrangements.
Disabled applicants or family members of applicants requiring any
type of accommodation during the application process or otherwise
are encouraged to identify themselves and indicate what type of
accommodation is needed.
