Overview
Twin Spring Farm Day School was founded in 1954, by Beatrice R. Hood, to provide a challenging education for her daughter and other children who were “too young” to attend the nursery schools of the day.
Over the last 50 years, Twin Spring Farm has continued to grow with the needs of its families and students, and currently provides nursery through sixth grade in an award winning, accredited and state licensed private school.
At Germantown Academy, we expertly pair the best from tradition, as in our discussion-based Harkness Tables in the Upper School, with the best in innovation, as in our dynamic Lower School Tinker Lab and incredible all-school Beard Center for Innovation, to provide our students with a truly extraordinary education to last a lifetime.
Our mission statement - to inspire students to be Independent in Thought, Confident in Expression, Compassionate in Spirit, Collaborative in Action, and Honorable in Deed is alive in our classrooms, science labs, stages, and fields every day. GA fosters a genuine love of learning and creates an exceptional academic, artistic, athletic, and social experience for our students.
Our Kids Teaching Kids science program, college-based Writing Center, award-winning Belfry Club (the nation's oldest, continuously-run high school drama club), school-wide community service program, and robust 6-12 athletics program that competes in the Inter-Academic Athletics League are just a few examples of how we engage students, help them find and pursue their passions, and develop leaders within an active and diverse community.
At GA, our students are valued for their own unique gifts, parents are committed partners, and dedicated, talented teachers care deeply about helping each student succeed, because Anything is Possible Starting Here.
