Overview
The Tutorial School is an educational community that includes students, staff, and parents joining together for what we believe to be among the most basic and fundamental of human activities: the pursuit of self-knowledge and the exploration, discovery, and understanding of life and the universe in all its multifarious aspects.
The Tutorial School offers a different way to raise and educate children.
Students from 10 to 19 years old pursue their interests in a comfortable, non-threatening environment.
By deciding what and how they want to learn, students develop a sense of responsibility for their lives.
The school emphasizes self-reflection, sensitivity to others, respect, trust, self-motivation, relationship, and the ability to think for one's self.
As a community the students and staff cooperatively run the school and implement the ideals and ideas that are generated.
In this way young people prepare for life as a whole.
The mission of the Santa Fe Waldorf School is to cultivate the intellectual, social, emotional, physical and spiritual capacities of the developing individual through an age-appropriate early childhood through twelfth grade curriculum.
We educate the whole child in a balanced and healthy way.
Our students engage in rigorous academics and gain a fundamental connection to the natural world, an appreciation of themselves and others, and the ability for moral discernment.
Waldorf graduates become thoughtful, fulfilled citizens who think imaginatively, communicate effectively, relate compassionately, and initiate healthy change in the world.
