The Cottage School vs. Swift School

Founded in 1985, The Cottage School provides an innovative educational program for elementary, middle and high school students with learning differences, ADHD, and/or social/emotional issues.

With a ten-to-one student-faculty ratio, small classes that accommodate various learning styles, and highly individualized instruction, The Cottage School provides a comprehensive academic college preparatory curriculum as well as vocational and special "hands on" classes including carpentry, culinary arts, drama, studio art, landscaping, and forensics.

Building a sense of self for students with special learning needs through academic and experiential programming, the Cottage School prepares individuals for fulfillment of their true potential as confident, productive, and independent adults.

Swift School is an independent school serving students in grades K-8 with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. Swift's programming is designed to remediate the language learning challenges faced by these students while capitalizing on the strengths of dyslexic learners.

Swift uses the Orton-Gillingham Approach to teach students how to decode and understand language and helps students develop interpersonal skills that will allow them to thrive in life beyond Swift.
