Overview
St. Michael Catholic School extends the knowledge and practices of the Catholic Faith, promotes academic success, and nurtures life long learning, and productive citizens.
The Sisters of the Holy Cross of St. Mary's founded St. Michael Academy.
In 1902, an addition was built to the thirteen room structure, which had been erected in 1870 on the corner of Center and Madison Streets.
In 1904, another story was added to the Academy increasing the room total to twenty-nine.
The Academy originally was open to both day school students and boarding students who came from as far away as Chicago.
The average enrollment at this time was approximately 80 students consisting of eight grades.
The Academy ceased operation as a boarding school but continued as a day school.
St. Michael's Home and School Association encourages the Christian education and development of the students by enhancing mutual understanding and positive working relationships among faculty, administration, and parents of all students.
All Saints Catholic School is a Catholic, co-educational secondary school, which acknowledges that each child is a unique creation of God with dignity and talents.
Our faith challenges us to cherish each child soul, heart, mind and body.
We strive to educate the total person in an atmosphere of love, discipline and honor.
The school fosters growth in the Catholic Faith in knowledge and in virtue.
As a Catholic Community we are called to provide spiritual direction and reinforcement so that our students will live to express their faith, demonstrating compassion and respect in their loving service to others.
All members of our community are called to be role models of the Catholic faith and of the Gospel commandment of love. All Saints Catholic School provides a supportive environment where students can acquire academic knowledge and strive for academic excellence.
Our faculty and staff stress that it is equally important to learn to think critically, to discern truth wisely, to live by high ethical standards, and to think and act independently according to gospel values.
