Overview
St. Mel School exists to develop the talents and abilities of tomorrow's citizens.
St. Mel School exists for the total development of each individual child spiritually, intellectually, socially and physically.
Through the combined efforts of our community, church, parents and educators, the school emphasizes Christian education in order to help students internalize those values, which will make them secure in their beliefs, and able to cope with a continually changing world.
We believe that all children can learn and that the knowledge they acquire through study and experience, will enable them to think logically and independently in order to achieve the greatest possible development of potential.
At St. Mel School, we are committed to providing a safe, positive learning/working environment for everyone in our school.
We aspire to foster respect for staff and students, for one another and all whom we meet.
We recognize the personal dignity of each person we meet.
We make every effort to develop students academically, spiritually, socially and physically according to the individual potential of each child.
St. Mark Catholic School, in partnership with the Church, the St.
Mark Parish Community, our state and the family, provides a Catholic / Christian education through which Gospel values are presented, lived and fostered.
We believe each child is a unique person, a child of God, with individual traits and characteristics.
The child has a right to a Christian education, which helps develop a positive self-image, growth in the ability to make strong moral judgements, and a spirit of respect and generosity toward others.
In our school the administration, faculty, and staff will work together to create a climate of learning in which each individual child can progress and mature spiritually, intellectually, psychologically and physically, at his or her own rate while integrating faith into daily life.
We create an instructional program where methods and materials will be directed to meet the needs of the individual student. We model and develop leadership and service.
