School Overview
Overview
St. Mary's Catholic School is an elementary school, which fosters a traditional catholic education based on academic excellence.
Students are taught to live lives that imitate Jesus Christ, with the ultimate goal of attaining everlasting life in heaven.
The philosophy of education at Fort Scott Christian Heights is based upon the premise that parents are responsible under God for the education and training of their children.
Therefore, F.S.C.H. serves as an extension of the Christian home and was established to provide parents an opportunity for their children to receive academic instruction and character development in an environment free from humanistic philosophies.
There are three areas of development in a child that require special attention.
These areas are spiritual, academic, social. The goals of F.S.C.H. are to encourage all children to incorporate Biblical principles in their character development; make learning a priority in the classroom; provide quality instruction to prepare children not only how to make a living but how to live; provide activities which will help train and develop students socially; and to provide instruction to help students make the decision to accept Jesus Christ as Lord of their lives.
