Overview
In February of 1912, at the St. Joseph Hall, there was a meeting held to see the prospect of having a parochial school in Mandan. The decision was made to remodel the old A-frame church to accommodate 125 school children.
In 1913, the school doors open, with over 200 students arriving for the 1st day of school.
Since then, St. Joseph School has been a staple of high-quality Catholic Education.
For over 110 years, we have been educating children in Mandan and the surrounding community.
In 2020, the school made the change from traditional education to Montessori education.
Christ The King Elementary School mission is to teach and model Christian values, to meet or exceed state education standards and to prepare our students with a strong foundation of life skills.
At Christ The King Elementary School we believe through our Catholic faith tradition we seek to nurture a sense of spirit, prayer, worship, liturgy and service as a thread that runs through our lives,, Christ the King school is a place where every person is respected, valued and honored, teachers and staff are partners with parents in the formation/education of their children, students grow in a challenging educational environment where each can strive for academic excellence, we foster the development of the whole person across the entire curriculum, each individual is unique, possessing God-given talents and gifts which we help develop so that all may contribute positively to the world in which they live.
