St. John Lutheran School, a ministry of St. John Lutheran Church in Chester, was established in 1849.
The school offers Kindergarten through 8th grade as well as a three and four year old pre-school program.
We the members of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church believe that in response to the Good News of the Gospel we are to Glorify God in all that we do, specially through Corporate worship, Biblical instruction, Christian fellowship and mission outreach.
Since being established in 1878, St. Mark's Lutheran School has educated thousands of students from Steeleville and the surrounding area.
Over 130 years of strong academic, spiritual, and co-curricular excellence have been enjoyed by St. Mark's students; thanks to St. Mark's many dedicated pastors, principals and teachers through the years.
Currently serving around 160 students, St. Mark's is accredited through National Lutheran Schools Acreditation and recognized by the state of Illinois.
St. Mark's Lutheran School offers a "Class A" type lunch program each full day of school.
This program meets all federal and state requirements. St. Mark's Lutheran School enjoys an excellent reputation in the Steeleville community in regards to the lunch it provides its students.
