The Schoolhouse in Flourtown is a Pennsylvania state licensed private nursery school and kindergarten that offers childcare before and after school hours.
The building is a century old landmark in Flourtown, PA, where George Washington and American soldiers stopped to mill flour during the march to Valley Forge in December 1777.
Schoolhouse owner and director Christine. Dewees taught elementary grades in the Springfield Township, Montgomery County, PA school district for 30 years where she was a founder of the Springfield Township Alternative Elementary School.
When the Township closed Flourtown Elementary School, Chris purchased the building and created The Schoolhouse in Flourtown Nursery School & Kindergarten.
Children three-years old to Kindergarten age have enjoyed learning experiences at The Schoolhouse for over 25 years.
