Sacred Heart Greenwich vs. Greenwich Academy

Founded in 1848, Sacred Heart Greenwich is part of the international network of Sacred Heart schools. Sacred Heart Greenwich is an independent college preparatory day school for more than 730 girls in kindergarten through grade 12 with a coed early childhood education program.

The School is on a beautiful 118-acre campus in Greenwich, Connecticut and is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.

The School offers a rigorous academic program, combined with a community service requirement and a well-rounded focus that includes the arts and athletics to encourage students to become global leaders.

World languages are emphaiszed, beginning in early childhood with Chinese, French and Spanish, expanding in the upper grades to include Arabic and Latin.

An international exchange program enables students to travel during the school year to other Sacred Heart schools in Australia, Austria, France, England, Ireland, Latin America, Spain and Taiwan.

Online courses are available in the Upper School through Sacred Heart's affiliatoin with the National Online School for Girls and SophieConnect, a project of the Network of Sacred Heart Schools.

Science and science research are a major focus beginning in the earliest grades, leading to opportunities to enroll in the three-year Science Research Program in Upper School.

The beautiful campus includes outstanding modern facilities. In fall 2015, the 36,500 sq. ft. Atheltic Center opened with six regulation squash courts, three gyms, dance/yoga studio, and training facilities. These are in addition to outdoor soccer, field hockey, lacrosse and softball fields, tennis courts, track and field, and cross country trails. There is an indoor pool for diving and swimming competition. The school's academics are enhanced by state-of-the-art facilities, including science labs, a library/media with an extensive print and online collection, the David J. Bloom Broadcast Journalist Suite, an outdoor observatory, maker space, theater, art rooms, and computer labs. The latest in technology is integrated at all grade levels and grades 5-12 have their own individual laptops for classroom work, research, and homework assignments.

Greenwich Academy is a college-preparatory day school serving girls in grades Pre-Connecting through Group XII.

The Upper School has a fully coordinated program with Brunswick School, a neighboring boys' school.
