Overview
Riverside Academy caters to the educational needs of students in the parishes of St.
Charles, St. James, and St. John the Baptist. Our school serves grades Pre-K 3 year old through 12th grade.
We believe that all students, faculty, parents, and RA community contribute not only to our school but also to the surrounding community, through life-long learning.
Riverside is not only an academic institution but also a place where the "whole" student is educated.
Character education is an important part of supporting children and helping to develop hard-working, well-educated, productive citizens for our society.
We recognize student differences and do not believe education must be the same for all students.
St. Charles Catholic High School, the only Catholic high school in the River Parishes, serves the youth and families of the River Parishes Area providing quality education in a supportive, Christ-centered environment.
An enthusiastically committed and dedicated faculty and staff, in partnership with caring parents, inspire students to achieve high academic standards, to excel in extracurricular activities, to grow in leadership skills and to integrate Catholic values in all endeavors.
Statement of Philosophy St. Charles Catholic believes that our primary concern is the Catholic education of our students.
In our service to the young men and women of the River Parishes, we are attempting to provide an atmosphere which stresses Catholic values while challenging students to become self-disciplined, self-motivated, and well-adjusted individuals.
The SCC curriculum, which is primarily college preparatory, strives to meet emotional, physical, and social needs of our students.
Our academic program attempts to develop thinking skills, reasoning skills, and decision-making skills necessary for our students to grow into mature adults capable of positively contributing principles of a democratic society and respect the rights and dignity of all individuals.
By establishing an atmosphere where Christian values are practiced, taught, and developed, it is our desire to model a Christian community for our students so that it can be continued throughout life.
SCC's goals support our philosophy of developing the whole person.
