Overview
Our Lady of Peace School is a Catholic elementary school, grades Preschool through Grade 8, dedicated to the growth of our children in a religious as well as an academic atmosphere; it gives primary importance to Christian values and academic excellence.
Our students in Kindergarten through Grade 8 are taught by state certified teachers.
Full time music, art and physical education teachers as well as a full time librarian are on the staff, and we have the services of remedial teachers in reading, math and speech, as well as a guidance counselor.
The school is committed to developing young people who understand and value the importance of character, self-discipline and faith: daily classes in religious education, weekly Mass, opportunities for spiritual growth and leadership, sacramental preparation, Living Stations of the Cross, Mary's Day celebration, as well as outreach programs designed to help students become aware of and reach out to those in need.
OLP creates and upholds an environment that fosters the Catholic principles parents want their children to integrate into their lives.
St. Paul's School recognizes its role in the formation of a right conscience in its students.
To assist students in developing this capacity, the school provides them with an understanding of the principles of Christian morality; in addition, it fosters the growth of the ability for decision making.
We understand the need to integrate religious values with the rest of life, to unite thought and action, and to bond the individual to the community.
Our school encourages attitudes of initiative, involvement and service in the home, school and civic communities.
Democratic values are fostered in situations of discussion, where freedom of expression is encouraged, and in projects, where opportunities for creative problem solving are present.
These situations and values are integrated in both curriculum and milieu of this school.
We recognize the need for developing the nature of the whole child: the moral, mental, physical, social, spiritual, and emotional aspect of all our students.
The development of their potential and individuality is best encouraged in a curriculum that encourages free expression, independent research and study, as well as creative thinking.
