School Overview
Overview
Welcome to Nittany Christian! We are sure that as you visit our website, you will find interesting facts about our School that may not match your idea of what a "typical" Christian school is like.
Our priority is to serve the Lord while allowing kids to be kids, all in an environment conducive to learning.
The students who walk through our front door on a typical morning are smiling and enthusiastic, ready to start another day, loving to learn and learning to love! We have high academic standards that are met through traditional classrooms that take a nontraditional approach to learning.
Yes, we use textbooks, but they are not the focus of our teaching methods.
The teachers allow the students to explore topics, use a hands-on approach to learning, and facilitate activities that motivate students to want to know more.
Christ is the center of our curriculum and is integrated into every aspect of the School day.
State College Friends School is a Quaker Pre-K through 8th grade school nurturing intellectual growth with a stimulating academic curriculum in a spiritually enriching environment. Since 1980, we have been guided by the principles of simplicity, peace, integrity, community, equality, and stewardship.
Our uniqueness comes from celebrating diversity and welcoming families of all faiths and perspectives.
We view learning as a process of inquiry and exploration, with students actively engaged in constucting knowledge from experience. At the same time, we nurture the capacities of the spirit that enable students to do their best: confidence, self-esteem, imagination, caring.
