School Overview
Overview
Montessori School Of Central Marin uses the Montessori educational philosophy believes that the educational method, to be effective, must support and address the nature of the child.
The nature of the child is not a theoretical construct, but based upon Montessori's detailed observation of the child.
Dr. Maria Montessori, the first woman to earn a degree of Doctor of Medicine from the University of Rome in Italy, had a varied and extensive background in science before beginning her work as an educational reformer.
Montessori in Motion has been joyfully educating Marin children since 1992. We are perched atop a beautiful hill overlooking Terra Linda, San Rafael, surrounded by nature, with weekly sightings of rabbits, birds, and families of deer. We provide the necessary tools for your child to become an independent, confident learner and maintain a heathly positive self image while exploring the magic of Montessori education.
