Overview
Las Cruces Academy offers a strong academic program with small classes.
We emphasize reading, writing, languages (Spanish & Mandarin Chinese), math (Singapore math), science, social studies, art, music, and physical activity.
Young children learn phonics to support their reading. We also support social development, encouraging students to take charge of many activities.
Some of our students started their own school newspaper; it was their idea and they have been doing the work.
We have many after school activities: clubs for theater, math, board games, engineering and Lego challenges, and American Sign Language.
Mesilla Valley Christian School was established in 1974 as an independent, nondenominational K-12Christianschool to serve the educational needs of young people inthebeautiful Mesilla Valley of southwestern New Mexico.
MVCS uses primarilyAbeka, Bob Jones, and ACSI textbooks -as well as several secular publishers as part of ourcurriculum.
A site-based, teacher-directed curriculum guide which is updated annually drives our instructional program. This program is over seenby our Curriculum & Education Committee comprised of faculty, board members, parents and alumi.
The purpose of Mesilla Valley Christian School is to assist parents in their God-given responsibility to train their children to become followers of Christ, serving our Savior daily in every aspect of life.
