School Overview
Overview
Gateway Woods/Apostolic Christian Children's Home was founded by love for lost and wounded children, by faith that God provides and heals, and by obedience to God's Word and leading.
In 1976, our residential childcare program opened two group homes on a beautiful 50-acre campus near Ft.
Wayne, Indiana. Over the years, Gateway Woods' ministries have steadily grown.
Our programs are grounded in a biblical perspective and provided by a dedicated Christian staff.
Throughout the years, each new component of service has sprung from our skilled workers' awareness and our leadership's clear commitment to the pressing needs of the whole child, the whole family, the whole problem.
As a result, today Gateway Woods is a provider of choice for a variety of children's services in northeast Indiana and beyond.
Crossroad Academy is located on Crossroad Child & Family Services campus and is accredited by the Indiana Department of Education (Freeway Accreditation) and AdvancED. Small class sizes for grades 1 through 12 facilitate learning and relationship building.
To begin the enrollment process, please get in touch with the School Principal at 260.484.4153, ext. 2044.
Crossroad Academy prepares each student to be socially and academically ready for the next level of education or vocation by providing a program for students not succeeding in a traditional classroom setting.
Certified elementary, secondary, and special education teachers lead instruction in each classroom.
Crossroad Youth and Family Specialists assist with classroom behavior management and during activities.
Crossroad Academy utilizes Project Approach instruction, which features student-driven investigations incorporating multiple core subjects.
We also offer a Behavior Incentive program with daily feedback, which keeps students focused on behavior and learning goals.
Our facilities include a gym, cafeteria, computer lab, media center, and playground, and tuition assistance may be available through the Indiana Choice Scholarship program.
