Overview
El Vista Baptist Academy is our Christian Day School which offers instruction in K-4 through 7th grade.
Since 1981, we have had the privilege and responsibility of ministering through the El Vista Baptist Academy.
Deuteronomy 6:4ff and Ephesians 6:4 positively declare the Christian's duty to train our children in the ways of the Lord.
Psalm 1 declares the negative, that we are not to walk in the counsel of the ungodly.
The Faith Promise Plan for Missionary Giving is how El Vista supports missionaries at home and around the world.
Through generous giving, we currently help support missionaries in places such as Togo, Mongolia, Canada, Haiti, Mexico, Navajo, Zambia, and several others.
We also support the Bible Tracts ministry, Jewish Evangelism, and our Bible College students.
Frequent missionary speakers and an annual Missionary Conference in October keep our hearts concerned for the lost around the world.
Holy Family Parish School was established in 1956 and is governed by the Diocese of Peoria.
Holy Family Parish currently has around 1000 families and the Conventual Franciscan Friars are the pastoral administrators.
Holy Family Parish is committed to advancing the religious training, educational opportunities, and the social and physical environment for our students.
The Catholic community is growing with cooperation and respect among students, staff, families, and parishioners.
The curriculum stresses academic achievement within a Christian community where the child feels that he/she is loved and respected by his/her peers as well as the teacher.
United with each other in meaningful liturgy and prayer, the students can further come to an understanding of the Christian life.
At Holy Family, we are attempting to 'teach as Jesus did.' The Diocesan curriculum guidelines, consistent with the State of Illinois guidelines, are followed for the teaching of all secular subject areas.
The curriculum is marked by current content and fresh approaches to methodology.
There is emphasis on principles rather than fact, on learning through problem solving rather than by precept.
We strive to offer a program which makes use of many sources of reading material, a wide variety of audio-visual and technology tools and a multi-text approach to the content areas. When the ability of our students is compared to their achievement level, Holy Family students achieve above their predicted level on almost every test.
These results give testimony to the efforts of our faculty and staff at Holy Family Parish School.
