Overview
Double Helix is small private school serving 4th - 8th graders.
It is a school that celebrates the intersection of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math.
We are rooted in standards, but not bogged down by them.
We are a school in which "teachable moments" drive instruction.
This is a school that allows students to construct their own knowledge through projects and explorations without sacrificing the need to build requisite skills.
We meet children where they are; we know where they need to be; and we honor multiple ways of getting there.
As a coeducational college preparatory day school, Athens Academy seeks and admits students with a variety of talents from diverse social, economic, geographic and racial backgrounds.
Students should exhibit an interest in becoming part of a community that seeks excellence in academics, the arts, athletics, and service.
In addition, parents should value a school community that promotes respect and integrity above all.
