School Overview
Overview
Dakot Abilities was incorporated as United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) in 1966.
We began providing services to individuals in 1975. At Dakot Abilities, we have a vision - of a community that actively includes people of all abilities.
And we're working to make that vision come true. Dakot Abilities is a nonprofit organization serving people with developmental disabilities.
We create an environment where people with disabilities can reach their highest potential.
And we're striving to make our community one in which all people are valued for their individual contributions and talents.
Our mission is to support independence, choice and access to an inclusive community.
Children's Care believes that all children deserve to reach their greatest potential.
That's why we offer a broad continuum of health care and educational services for children from birth through age 21.
Our system of services offers children and their families the ease to move through or in and out of our programs, always maintaining consistent, quality care.
From mild learning, behavioral, or physical challenges to intensive medical rehabilitation, Children's Care knows kids.
Our staff of approximately 480 includes physicians; nurses; physical, occupational, and speech therapists; teachers; psychologists; a dietitian; and more - all specializing in the special needs of children.
Our interdisciplinary approach means all of the child's needs are considered and treated in a coordinated effort.
