Crisp Academy is dedicated to providing the finest college preparatory educational opportunities possible in traditional disciplines and contemporary skills in a conservative atmosphere with a devotion to Christian principles.
Learning experiences are provided which lead students to self-understanding; to a widening knowledge of the society in which they live; and to constructive membership in the world community.
If students are to live responsible and satisfying lives, they must acquire values that give meaning and direction to their lives.
Crisp Academy believes the Christian tradition provides the richest source for these values and should constitute a fundamental part of each student's day.
The curriculum at Crisp Academy places major emphasis on scholastic attainment and character development.
Primary Grades: The A Beka Program curriculum with an emphasis on early reading and other academic skills begins in kindergarten (3, 4, and 5K).
The curriculum is expanded in grades one through four in the areas of language arts, science, social studies, and mathematics.
Music, art, elementary Spanish, and P.E. are included as well Middle School: Grades five through eight are departmentalized.
The A Beka Program is continued to some degree.
The academic concepts mastered by grade eight carry over into high school.
Southland Academy's campus is located on a beautiful 55-acre campus in Americus, GA.
Today, Southland has four-year kindergarten through twelfth grade on the Americus campus.
The nine building education complex includes a four-year kindergarten building, a five-year kindergarten building, an elementary building, a junior high building, a high school building, a media center, a music facility, a cafeteria, and two gymnasiums.
The purpose of establishing the school was to make available a quality educational program for those who seek such a challenge, to expose the student to a Christian atmosphere that is conducive to learning, and to provide all the facets of education upon which good citizenship is founded.
Fundamental classroom activities are presented to the student so that he can analyze problems, can perform before his peers, and can achieve distinction as an individual.
Led by well-trained, highly qualified teachers, the student is encouraged to participate to his fullest capacity toward achieving the educational background he needs to prepare him for a productive adult life.
In addition to regular classroom study, the student has opportunities afforded to him in club work, athletics, music and oratory so that his education will be well rounded and complete.
