School Overview
Overview
College Heights Kindergarten was established in 1954 by Mrs. Oscar Black.
It is a board run, not-for- profit school. In 1999 the preschool and kindergarten program was accredited through ACSI accrediting board, becoming one of the first ACSI accredited preschool and kindergartens in New Mexico.
Mrs. Black envisioned a school which would help children develop in all aspects of their lives, to become productive citizens and to understand God's love and His rules for living.
We believe that real growth can only take place within the bounds of the Truth of Jesus Christ.
Therefore, our instruction is centered in and grows out of the Truths of God's Word, the Bible.
Parents have the primary responsibility for the training and nurturing of their children, and we do not wish to appropriate that role for ourselves, but rather be an extension of it.
We are firmly committed to the belief that God established the family as the main building block of society and must do all we can to nurture it.
At Noah's Ark Learning Center we offer child care service that includes preschool for toddlers starting at age two (2) all the way through preschool children age five (5) who missed the kindergarten deadline for Las Cruces Public Schools.
We provide transportation and after school care for students who are in grades K-5.
We transport from schools in the surrounding areas to NALC. When they arrive they are given a nutritious snack, a time for homework, homework help, free time, and outside time.
When the students are enrolled at Noah's Ark Learning Center they will also receive early pick up for early dismissal days and all day care with special activities planned on days when there is no school including winter break, spring break, summer break, and some holidays.
