I have had two children attend Pinewoods in various classrooms over the past 6 years, and I only have wonderful things to say about the school. The new administration (in the last year) has returned the school to a true Montessori gem. The classrooms are peaceful, beautiful, cooperative spaces, and my kids have excelled both academically and socially. My oldest now attends a different school and is far above his peers in both reading and math, thanks to the foundation created at Pinewoods. When there was admin and teacher turnover a few years ago, I definitely had concerns and considered moving my kids to a different school, but they were always happy and enjoyed going to school every day, so we stayed - and I am so thankful we did! The teachers are the absolute best and somehow create the most perfect, balanced atmosphere for both learning and play.

Our son has thrived being a part of the Pinewoods community and the Montessori philosophy this past year! Pinewoods was our son's first school experience at three years old and he was very unsure at first. His Primary teachers and the staff were so patient and kind to him especially at drop-off, making him feel seen and heard. He has built confidence in so many areas including his social skills, writing his name, and is now reading phonetically. We are excited for him to attend summer camp and Pinewoods again this year!

I have been a Pinewoods employee AND a Pinewoods parent since 2019, and from my very first day here, I knew I had found me forever home. As a teacher, I enjoy working in a small community that values relationships, authentic communication, diversity, and quality ECE education. I have never been in a workplace where my personal and professional growth has been this supported by my administration. I love our playground, our outdoor gardens and classroom extensions, our focus on the Montessori philosophy and love of children, and the way we work as a community towards peace, understanding, and lasting relationships. As a parent, I have been so grateful for the skills, patience, and dedication of the teaching staff, especially the Lower Elementary teachers. My daughter has several differing needs, and they have been so supportive and encouraging during her academic journey. She went from struggling to read CVC to reading full chapter books independently due to their knowledge and expertise in working with children with dyslexia. Her social and emotional growth has been nurtured at each step of the way, and they fully embrace her for who and where she is. We have had a disgruntled former employee work hard this past year to try and spread false and hurtful information about the Pinewoods community. It has broken many of our hearts and is very unfortunate, but as someone who has lived and breathed here for many years and plans to do so for many more, I can say with all of my heart that Pinewoods is an incredibly special and beautiful place for families, teachers, and children. I am grateful for Jessica and for Lindsay and the work they have done to maintain a positive work environment for all of us, this last year and always. I see a bright future for Pinewoods and know that we are all excited to continue to welcome new families and staff into the fold as we continue to grow and thrive!

Pinewoods is a sweet, safe community school in which families share a solid partnership with their children's teachers and everyone knows one another. The children are valued as individuals and empowered to gain independence at their developmental level- they are supported in solving problems and building confidence in their social and academic skills. Sadly, an employee was asked to leave the school last January and has worked with others to spread untrue and hurtful information about a wonderful place and the people who work there. I urge you to join the many families choosing Pinewoods as their children's school- you will be so pleased with the care and attention they receive and the growth they show academically, socially, and emotionally.

I started at this school when I was 2 and I graduated when I was 10. This school helped me learn so much academically and emotionally. All of the teachers respect and love every single student and we are taken under their wings like their own children. I have loved every year that I have gone this school. While I went to other schools after Pinewoods, it`s helped to prepare me for highschool next year the most.

My son is two and in the Toddler class. He started coming to Pinewoods in August 2016 and he couldn't be more happy here. His teachers are so kind and most importantly, they really care about my child and helping him reach his full early learning potential. The classrooms are beautiful, organized, and all of the teachers here are passionate about the Montessori Method. I wanted my child to have an authentic Montessori learning experience, and Pinewoods Montessori has exceeded my expectations. When I first observed how different a Montessori class operates, I was impressed by how each child was highly respected and always allowed the opportunity to be independent and have their freedom of choice among the lessons. At the same time, it was far from chaotic. It is a peaceful environment and materials remain organized throughout the day (as the children are taught to respect their environment and put things back where they belong). I highly recommend bringing your child(ren) to observe a classroom at Pinewoods.

Our daughter is now 6 yrs old, and has been at Pinewoods for 4 yrs. She loves it, and is flourishing in the caring and close knit environment. Both my wife and I are very happy with my daughters progress and can't say enough about the teachers. Thank you Pinewoods Montessori.

I have been a parent of two Pinewoods students. My children have very different personalities, and I have found that Pinewoods has catered to each child's interests. As the child stays in the same class over several years, the child develops very strong relationships with his/her peer, while continuing to grow and learn. The school's most important asset is its very caring staff. My daughter loves her teachers and absolutely loves going to school every day. I would highly recommend this school.

Pinewoods Montessori School is the best kept secret in Orange County. Our oldest son started at Pinewood's Montessori Extended Day program at 5 years old. We have chosen to continue his education at Pinewoods because of the access to education, knowledge, and learning every day tools to help him regulate his emotions and encourage his desire to learn. Our son has had some struggles in a learning environment and the Pinewoods Teachers and staff have all given time, care, and flexibility to work with finding approaches and tools that help him learn better and help him become more adapted to social situations. I feel very lucky to have found Pinewoods and wish we had earlier.

The moment we visited the classroom for the first time my (very) active 2.5 year old became calm. The teacher asked his name and invited him to join the lesson. The level of respect for each student continues to amaze me. Please make time to visit, you won't regret it.

We didn't really know much about the Montessori philosophy when our child started at Pinewoods as a preschooler. But we have since come to learn more, and appreciate how it teaches independence and cultivates curiosity. Pinewoods is a really special place. It's not fancy, but the teachers are incredibly dedicated and its a great group of families.
