Notes for Prospective Students
Merit Academy seeks students who want to learn at a deeper level,
students who aren't afraid of giving 100% of their energy, students
who love to travel, students who appreciate the attention and
guidance of one-on-one classroom instruction, and students who are
willing to dedicate themselves to realizing their full potential.
Before enrolling, the appropriate documents and test scores must be
submitted. Student applicants must complete the Student Statement
and submit the Recommendation Forms to their current English,
Mathematics, Science, and Foreign Language teachers, as well as
their principal or counselor. All new high school student
applicants are required to take the SSAT, SAT9, CAT, or ERB and
have test results sent to Merit Academy. Students applying for
middle school and high school must complete all application forms
by themselves, in their own handwriting. Parents must complete the
Parents' Application Form, as well as all the application forms for
preschool, elementary and middle school students. Students take an
active part in joining Merit. As part of the application process,
students meet with the Director to discuss the requirements of
Merit Academy. Both parents are encouraged to attend the meeting to
ensure that the entire family understands the demands of being a
successful student at Merit. Merit admits students of any race,
color, religion, sexual orientation, or national or ethnic origin
to all of the rights, privileges, programs, and activities
generally accorded or made available to students at Merit. It does
not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sexual
orientation, or national and ethnic origin in the administration of
its educational policies and other school-related programs or
activities.
