Main Line Classical Academy is a co-educational Lower and Upper School in Bryn Mawr, PA.
We are built on a commitment to the classical liberal arts curriculum including multiple languages, piano or violin, and art history from k on.
We nurture mathematical and scientific thought through inquiry-based learning and delving into the "why" from the earliest ages.
We are creating round and rigorous learners, exposed to and adept at negotiating, sophisticated material amidst our bucolic campus.
Our institution is small by design to provide a warm atmosphere and close personal attention, with a faculty-to-student ratio of 2.5:1, we ensure that each learner is seen and supported.
With full day k, multiple recesses a day for brain breaks, and our nature trails and hands-on skills courses emphasizing knowing your surroundings, our students emerge as dynamic and multifaceted individuals. Learn more about MLCA by contacting us at admissions@mainlineclassical.org.

School Notes
- Main Line Classical Academy is built on the conviction that children are never too young to learn great things. This means that even in their nascent elementary-school years, we introduce children to some of the most profound, exciting, and beautiful literary texts, mathematical concepts, scientific discoveries, art, and music. Young minds prosper on journeys in space and time and that deep, systematic study of world history, epoch-by-epoch, is a must. We believe in the multidimensional study of foreign languages, ancient and modern, mastered at an early age. And we know that some of the best pieces of literature and poetry have been written with youngsters in mind, and that children as young as kindergarten thrive on learning and reciting poetry.
- From kindergarten onward, MLCA students explore the finest of literature and poetry in English, French, and, starting in fourth grade, in Latin
- Rigorous mathematics starting in k through a curriculum developed by a Princeton Ph.D and STEM curriculum built so that students can enter AP classes in 9th grade
- In the arts, our students acquire proficiency playing piano or violin as part of our curriculum, starting in k, and they gain a solid understanding of musical theory; are introduced to the history of Western art and music
- Students acquire mastery of the fundamentals of drawing and painting as well as art history.
- Main Line Classical Academy offers full day kindergarten with after-care options. We offer optional extension with electives and with optional Christian or Judaics study for those seeking religious learning.
- Financial aid process available for eligible families.

We are a new family in Main Line Classical Academy. We transferred our son from a top 5 Maryland private school for the exclusivity of MLCA. The former school had a well-known name, national ranking, huge facilities, and emerald sports fields. What was missing for us, and what we ultimately discovered at MLCA, was the individual approach to our child. Main Line Classical Academy offers a rigid curriculum that, quite frankly, is stellar, and we haven`t seen anything like that at the top private schools. We had a fantastic opportunity to meet all his teachers during the Back-to-School event, and to say that we were impressed is to say nothing. Every class is designed to deliver rather challenging material in a child-friendly, age-appropriate manner. For example, in the 1st-grade class, students studied maps, talked about Pelasgians, learned the letters of the Greek alphabet, and covered and read a couple of myths, and they did all this only in a few weeks of school. More to say, our child comes back home and talks about his school day. Another component is that the school is very child-centric. They genuinely care about their students. Our son is all boy so he likes to have fun and move around. The school day offers plenty of recess opportunities that he loves. The school doesn't provide sports, but the PE class is excellent!

This school is one of a kind. You will not find a similar elementary curriculum anywhere else. Truly a special school.

I can't begin to describe what a gem MLCA is. I feel deeply fortunate and honored to be a member of the school community!

This is a unique gem on the Main Line. The small class size, excellent subject-specific teachers and rigorous academic focus is perfect for my family. My three children have attended for four years and counting. The curriculum is very well thought out. If you care about academics - this school is worth investigating.

Main Line Classical Academy has small class sizes, talented instructors, and an academically rigorous curriculum. My first grader loves her math and science classes. She has private piano lessons at school twice a week and violin ensemble twice a week. The language curriculum is excellent, and her history lessons are much more in depth than what she was getting in public schools. I had some concerns at her previous school that she wasn't getting the individual attention she needed. At MLCA, her teachers communicate with me and clearly know her well. Her classmates are wonderful, and she enjoys going to school.
