Our family loves the Hillel Academy of Tampa. We are delighted we found this school as we were seeking a place that would nurture AND challenge our children, while not trying to tamp down on their idiosyncrasies. Hillel genuinely loves and children and we feel they are invested in their success as citizens and students. We transferred from very high-ranked South Tampa public schools and are very pleased we made the switch.

I just got into my first choice college! Hillel Academy prepared me for high school and gave me the study habits I needed. I graduated from Hillel a few years ago. I am in the top of my high school class at a local private school. Thank you for the great experience!

I am a graduate of Hillel (1986) and a current parent.Wow! Has this school changed for the better. Great open campus. with the classrooms along the open playground and sports deck. When I drop my children off, it warms my heart to see young children running, laughing and playing in the breezeway and the other open areas. I love attending the Jewish holiday events such as services or School Shabbots that are always well attended. My children lead our weekely Shabbot dinners with Hamotzi and the blessings over the wine (grape juice). Additionally, as a school, our students did outstanding on the year end standardized tests for secular subjects. If you care about your child's Jewish identity and their secular education in a nurturing enviroment -- YOU MUST CHOOSE HILLEL.

We have had three children at Hillel Academy, one who graduated already. The academics are, in my opinion, the best in the Tampa Bay area. The teachers are responsive and helpful, they understand your child and help him/her blossom. Many of them hold advanced degrees. There are good after school sports teams, great art and music programs and just an overall atmosphere of real love of learning. Our kids never want to miss school, even when sick, which is strange to me because I always jumped at the chance to miss school as a kid especially in middle school. The kids say they can't miss because it's too much work to catch up, or because they really don't want to miss what will be taught in a certain class, etc.
The difference between HA and public high school with our oldest was pretty jarring. The lack of responsiveness from many teachers and the sometimes flat out silly things they teach or require from the students were an eye opener. As was how many other students (including some from other private schools) were not ready for critical thinking work.
We are very, very happy here, would not send our kids anywhere else.

My child has been attending this school for 2.5 years. I am impressed with the quality of the education. My child was far ahead in one area, and on grade level in another. They have consistently challenged her in her strong area, while helping her move far ahead in her weaker area. I love the way issues are resolved. The environment is warm and encouraging. I highly recommend this school, even if you are not strong in your religious views.
