We consider ourselves incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to enroll our daughter in HCS Kindergarten. It feels more like finding a family rather than simply joining a school. Our daughter's happiness at HCS is undeniable; she truly loves her school. The front office staff at HCS are not only kind but also professional, making us feel welcome and supported. The teachers at HCS are both knowledgeable and creative. They have not only imparted valuable knowledge to our daughter but also instilled in her a sense of gratitude and respect. The teachers show meticulous attention to every student's academic progress as well as their personal growth. We are delighted to maintain open and meaningful communications with our HCS teachers through various channels, including parent-teacher conferences, school-wide activities, field trips, pick-up quick talks, and my personal favorite, the daily notes. With HCS as her academic starting point, our daughter is truly blessed.

Hampden Christian School is a magnificent, small school that places a big emphasis on community (within the classroom, school, and Baltimore City as a whole). The class sizes are small, the teachers are creative and innovative, and the curriculum is engaging. The children have outdoor recess several times daily, year-round. My 3rd-grade son has been a student at HCS since pre-K and my daughter entered kindergarten this year after attending HCS since she was 4 months old. The teachers work very well together and model teamwork and kindness. Through the support and creativity of the HCS staff, my children have developed a love for learning, as well as confidence in the classroom.

My kids have been so fortunate to get to go to Hampden Christian for elementary. We love the small class sizes, the nurturing-yet-challenging teachers, and the emphasis on building character through service. We love how active the kids get through multiple recesses. We've seen our children grow in body, mind, and spirit here.

During the pandemic, we struggled to help teach our Kindergarten and 1st grade girls to read while juggling our day jobs. We applied to Hampden Christian because of its small class sizes, values-oriented curriculum, passionate focus on reading, and its emphasis on in-person learning. The past year at HCS has exceeded our expectations in every way. Our kids are happy and fully engaged at school again. They are not only able to read but now have a love of reading that we hope will last a lifetime.
