School Notes

  • Grace Community School exists to teach Jesus. That is who we are, and it is what we do. Picture who Jesus is and was. All that He did and said. What He taught us. What He's still teaching us every day. That is our primary focus. Grace is about Mrs. Allen not only teaching the American Civil War to your child, but to see God's sovereign hand through it. It is Coach Maddox, who uses the game of football to equip your son to endure the heat of August so he'll someday persevere through heat in his marriage. It is about showing your daughter how her hand on the bow of her cello can draw her closer to the heart of God. Finally, Grace is Mrs. Crawford praying over and shepherding the wounded heart of your child over the death of her goldfish, or her grandfather. If your greatest desire is for your child to learn to love the Lord with all his heart, all his soul, and all his mind, Grace would love to partner with you to help make that happen. It's what teaching Jesus is all about.

We moved back to Tyler in the middle of my daughter`s first-grade year and as we have started to get a glimpse of what happens after high school (we just started visiting colleges since she is a junior), I am incredibly grateful for the education and experience she has received at Grace Community School. Christian education was important to me not as a replacement for teaching Jesus at home, but as a supplement. I love that Grace's faculty and staff teach from a Christian worldview. It is apparent as I work alongside teachers that they love Jesus and love our children. I see them as partners who reinforce what we are teaching at home and know my daughter will leave high school equipped to influence the world for Christ in college and in the workplace. I love Grace Community School and know you will too!

My twins started kindergarten at Grace and are in their senior year now! Every campus at Grace is special! I was an elementary classroom teacher in public schools for 4 years, and it was important to my husband and me to have our kids attend a school where the teachers are free to teach Jesus at the same time they are teaching them reading, writing, math, science, and etc. The teachers and staff at the campuses are all wonderful and helped us to reinforce the foundation in Christ that we were instilling at home and gave our kids a wonderful foundation in education that has been built upon at every campus. One special memory we will always cherish from our time at the elementary campus is the first day of school when my daughter was in 2nd grade, she came home and told us she prayed with her teacher that day to ask Jesus to be Lord and Savior of her life. We highly recommend Grace Community School!

We started our children in the elementary upon moving to Tyler. The faculty and staff prepared them well for the "freedom" experienced in JH. Our kids transitioned beautifully and have found great friends. There is a ton of athletic and academic options - perfect for each of my children - from drumline to cross country. The faculty and staff are extremely caring and are a tremendous blessing to our family.
