Global Montessori School of Westwood is a small but nurturing school that consists of two full-time teachers and one part-time teacher. The school has a diverse student body made up of 14 students that range from 3 - 5 years old. The school is kept very clean and orderly with a small playground and outside space. In addition to the regular curriculum that consists of reading/writing , math, science and culture/geography, the students also have weekly enrichment programs in Music, Sports, Dramatic Art, Yoga from outside experts and local experts. cooking and more. The teachers are well-trained in Montessori Method and care about each child individually. By example, they teach the children to respect each other, be responsible and constantly challenge themselves. The teachers also encourages parent involvement to make the lessons more exciting and dear to the students. For example, parents that are physicians will come in to talk about body parts while the parents that have a green thumb will come in to lead the kids in gardening. This is a truly wonderful education environment that I am glad that my daughter had the pleasure to be a part of for the past two years.
