Cedars Montessori School

Cedars Montessori was started in 1974 by Jill Young.
It is staffed with AMI and AMS accredited teachers.
The school is on 16 acres of land southwest of the city in a rural residential area.
Every classroom has a garden and access, in some degree, to the clearing, a 3-acre natural play area.
The prairie hill, nature path, weather station, farm animals, ropes course and soccer practice field and playground provide opportunities to be active in nature.
We provide an individualized, integrated, inclusive Montessori education for children 3 years to 12 years of age.

"We enrolled our daughter at Cedars Montessori when she was three-years-old. She is now ten and we are proud of the person she is becoming. Cedars Montessori has provided a solid educational experience for her. The campus is absolutely stunning with an abundance of nature providing a magical backdrop for her educational journey and friendships. During her time at Cedars, she has engaged with a variety of classrooms and teachers. Cedars has a high standard of quality and each teacher has exceeded those standards. Our daughter is a self-motivated learner and interested in exploring many topics. Cedars has nurtured our child's curiosity. Cedars provides a plethora of opportunities to engage with other community members. We are proud of the relationships and friendships we have established during our time with Cedars. Based on the continued success of our daughter's experience at Cedars, there was no question in our minds when it came time to enroll our youngest son in a Montessori program - we selected Cedars for his educational journey as well. We highly recommend Cedars Montessori."

My child started here when barely 3 years old yet, after having gone to another Montessori school in the area since the age of 18 months. The outdoor element alone was enough to sell me, but once we finished our first week at Cedars, it already felt like home. I can't imagine my child anywhere else, and I wish somehow they could expand to high school! The staff and teachers are wonderful--everyone truly cares about the children and any extra or additional support needed is consistently discussed and offered. I couldn't recommend this school more if you want your child to be immersed in a gentle, natural environment that supports all of their emotional and academic growth.
