School Notes
- We are a private Christian school serving students in preschool8th grade in the Long Beach, Signal Hill, Lakewood, Los Alamitos, Seal Beach, and Cypress areas. Founded in 1947, Bethany School is fully accredited by both ACSI and WASC (Association of Christian Schools International and Western Association of Schools and Colleges). Our high-performing school offers a well-rounded Christian education in small classes of diverse backgrounds and ethnicities. Our small school size provides us with a true sense of family, affording us the opportunity to provide not only a well-rounded academic instruction but also to teach children and their families about God, His Word, His son Jesus Christ, and about the working of the Holy Spirit in our lives. At Bethany School, we foster an environment where students grow spiritually, academically, socially, and physically to learn about their place in this world and become what God has made them to be. This is combined with our Future Focused Education. Kindergarten through 2nd grade students are given a broad exposure to interests and careers. Students in grades 3-5 build strategies to develop personal skills. And in middle school, teachers enable students to plot a course for their future. We also provide an opportunity for students to learn to make real-life connections to classroom learning through classroom iPads and Chromebooks, arts, hands-on activities, and field trips. Bethany students take part in daily Bible instruction as well as weekly chapel. Extra-curricular activities include after school clubs and sports, Meet the Masters Art program, travel weeks for 4th - 8th grades, and much more. In addition, we also provide a full-day kindergarten program, before and after school daycare, and summer enrichment programs for preschool through 8th grade.
