Notes for Prospective Students

For many parents in our community, the admissions process to independent and selective public schools is riven by anxiety. MUSE Academy firmly believes that every child is capable of achieving academic and artistic excellence. Therefore, we have designed our admissions process to be as transparent, efficient, and informative as possible. Our process is designed to help both parties, parents and educators, determine if MUSE Academy is the best fit for your child's learning style and your family's educational goals and values. The first step on the admissions journey is to attend an information session at MUSE Academy. These are held throughout the school year and into the summer in order to provide maximum flexibility to families researching educational options. There you will hear from our Head of School, Director of Marketing & Admissions, and Director of Music & Performing Arts about the MUSE Academy educational approach, our curriculum, and the learning experience your child can look forward to. You will also have the opportunity to meet with a selection of MUSE academic and performing arts faculty, some of whom are likely to be teaching your child while he or she is with us. The next step is filling out a streamlined and simple application form with the essential information on your family and the child or children who would like to join MUSE. We will then schedule a baseline assessment of your child's developmental and social readiness in a short one-on-one and small group setting conducted by educators, including some who may likely be teaching your child at some point. These appointments are informal opportunities that help us better understand each child. The only documents required are a copy of the previous year's report card. Assessments are conducted on a rolling basis throughout the year at times that are convenient for working parents. Families will be notified of a decision shortly after the assessments are reviewed. If you are accepted, you will receive an enrollment contract with a deadline to reply. In the interest of fairness, MUSE Academy operates on a rolling admissions schedule and first-come-first-served basis. Simply submit your signed contract and tuition deposit before the deadline to confirm enrollment in MUSE Academy.
