FCDS creates not only an exceptional environment for academics, but as important to our family, FCDS excels in their character and value development of our boys. As parents, we feel a partnership with FCDS in working to create kind and respectful young men. Each of our boys, all quite different, has benefited tremendously from their FCDS education whether it be in the classroom, on the sports fields, or the stage. We love the focus across ages on public speaking cultivated in a nurturing environment that allows the boys to build their self-confidence. We also love the tight-knit community, amazing faculty, and excellent ongoing parent/teacher communication. We can't say enough about this gem of a school and all FCDS has done to prepare our boys for their next steps in secondary school!

Fairfield Country Day School excels at building community and character as much as it does scholarship. When exploring FCDS for our then kindergarten-aged son, we were struck by the articulateness of the older boys who led the tours, their poise with adults, and the genuine interest they took in their younger counterparts visiting the school. After several years at FCDS, we can see exactly where that comes from. There is a real sense of camaraderie in the classroom. Leadership values - empathy and responsibility - are not just part of the curriculum but modeled by the students. And our son's classmates value being at school and they respect colleagues who are interested, diligent students. The faculty are conscious of that culture, know how important it is, and have the talent and the motivation to keep it up.
