School Notes

OUR PHILOSOPHY
We believe the proper development of a child includes social, emotional, and intellectual growth and without all three elements delivered in a balanced and careful way, a child isn`t free to develop to his or her full potential. We know that children thrive when they are given the opportunity and space to learn. We also know that learning happens in a variety of ways, and the best learning happens when children are actively engaged in the process. We strive to create an environment in which every child feels a part of the community. From that sense of belonging, children feel more secure and willing to explore their world around them. We value diversity, and teach a healthy respect for others. We work to build each child`s self-confidence by allowing for their individuality to shine and be respected. We encourage children to increase their strengths. We also provide many opportunities for growth by allowing your children to try unfamiliar things in a safe environment. We believe each child will succeed intellectually when given plenty of opportunity to learn, explore, play, and interact in stimulating and safe surroundings.

OUR MISSION
We strive to help each child grow and develop at her own pace. Children develop at different rates based not only on their age, but on their individual abilities. We work to understand the unique strengths of each individual child and help them develop further in those areas, while gently encouraging growth in areas of struggle. To do this, we provide a welcoming, friendly atmosphere with access to a variety of hands-on activities, crafts, physical activity, socializing, group programs, free time and quiet time. We believe that a happy balance of these elements allows each child the best opportunities for growth.

OUR TEACHERS
Our teachers are qualified, trained, and caring. Their enthusiasm and compassion is evident and instrumental in the care and teaching of your child. We believe your child deserves teachers who are nurturing and engaged, and our teachers take the time to get to know and understand each child. They pay attention to your children`s interests and needs, and incorporate those into our research-based learning approaches. With a wide range of age-appropriate toys, crafts, supplies, and more, our teachers are comfortable creating approaches that suit the individual needs of each child. School readiness is a guiding goal in our lessons and activities. Our teachers value experimentation in play, and seek to provide plenty of hands-on experiences. They choose activities and lessons that promote language and literacy, math skills and concepts, physical activity, teamwork, problem-solving and more in developmentally appropriate ways.
