There are a few main drivers for our family choosing Sage Ridge: - As we evaluated the opportunity to move to Northern Nevada, we wanted to ensure our children would thrive in a growth-oriented learning environment. We found Sage Ridge to be unrivaled in the greater Reno area, across many facets as a college preparatory school. Not only is it set apart in this market, but also when comparing it to options in the larger metropolitan market from which we moved (Bay Area, CA), we noticed that Sage Ridge performs just as well or better than the most reputable independent schools in our area there, when we looked at key metrics that are measured, e.g., upper school AP loads and pass rates, college admissions stats, college merit grants and aid offered to seniors, etc.- We saw that the school would provide a learning "home" until college for our two children who have vastly different personalities, strengths, development needs, and interests. Sage Ridge teachers are thoughtful and passionate about cultivating their students' curiosity, honing their critical thinking skills, and providing a safe environment for them to challenge themselves, and learn and grow from their successes and mistakes both academically and socially/emotionally. We as parents have witnessed our children's significant growth in just one year, but what is most heartwarming is that our children themselves have recognized how much they're learning, and have actually thanked us multiple times for moving them to Sage Ridge!- Sage Ridge's ongoing success is tied to its constituency living its Pillars, and Community is an important glue that binds it all. The sense of community that exists at Sage Ridge includes the students who form bonds and go through periods of success and conflict together during their grade's Outdoor Education and other experiences throughout their years at the school. It also importantly includes a talented, thoughtful, engaged, and supportive group of adults - faculty, administration, parents, and the Board of Trustees, who collectively and collaboratively work together on continuously improving various programs and offerings at school. - As parents of a lower and middle schoolers, we envision spending the next decade at Sage Ridge, until our youngest heads to college. We see our family and others as beneficiaries of thoughtful strategic efforts which began before our arrival, to build quality learning environments. This includes the new Student Activity Center that's coming very soon and will continue with further strategic planning and investment in additional facilities such as Performing Arts space and an Innovation Lab area for project and classwork. This will take the school to the next level in providing even higher-quality learning experiences.

My son attended high school here and my daughter is in her junior year. We chose SRS due to the smaller class size and the quality of the teachers. My daughter will gripe sometimes about the school being too small, but then she raves on about her great teachers. Some have PhDs and are true experts in their fields, others are intelligent and passionate about getting these kids ready for college. My son, who thought he was a very average student, was shocked when he arrived to college to discover he was more than prepared and actually took upper level classes in his first year of college. Times are tough right now, but I'm in awe of how much SRS teachers are trying to help students find comfort in their new online classes. I could not have asked for any more. As in any school, there are frustrating moments, thankfully those are far and few between!

My husband and I never really thought a private/independent school was a path we would choose for our kids but we are so happy that we decided to check out Sage Ridge a few years ago. We are now midway through our 4th year at the school with both of our children enrolled in middle school. Our kids are happy, academically challenged, and have found a new group of peers through the theater program. Truth be told, there were a couple of bumpy years with changes in administration and faculty but the 2019-2020 school year has so far been smooth sailing. My kids have found good friends, supportive teachers, and are comfortable being themselves. As a parent I feel heard, and I have found many opportunities to be involved.
